Weekend Recap

  • Meditation: 1 Corinthians 11:17-34
What can I say? It was a great Communion Service! - A proper celebration!

Did you get the point of the 'Lord's Supper'? We remember what Jesus has done for us,what he has done for those at the table with us and everyone in Stralsund & the world who has yet to share in what Jesus jas done for them. (There's always room for more people at our table!) We celebrate this fact by sharing a meal together.

I love FHC! Our people just take what is shared from the Bible and then make it happen! .Awesome to see you guys hang out and share with each other long afterwards.Someone even accepted Jesus as a result! That's what it's all about! You guys blow me away!!!

Cool to find out that people at FHC can really cook! I was disappointed there weren't more leftovers! (Smile)

I liked the free-for-all jam session  afterwards! Hannes sang an original song. Matthias Geisler busted the rhythm on bass- hidden talents! Anne Spranger even jumped in to sing a little Barlow Girl. I heard the ladies washing dishes were dancing while they worked. Maybe we should ask them to dance at the next GoDi!?! Who were they again?...Rosie Schick, Anne Spranger, Bigi Groetzinger, Annette Wolffahrt....

Actually...Geri Groetzinger will be doing some interpretive ribbon dancing in a yellow tutu at the GoDi this Saturday - you don't want to miss it!

Ok, the above statement is totally not true and I apologize for the disturbing
images in your head!

See you Saturday for an amazing service - it just keeps getting better!
It's a joy to be your Pastor!

- Brandon

PS We just got invited to participate at Knieper Fest in June. Let's be praying about it and see what we can do!

Weekend Recap

  • Mood: Can You Tell?

I'm excited about where we are going! I think it's about to get wild!

Our 'Mission Possible' is to be the best church  in Germany for the unchurched! 'Oh, isn't that arrogant?' NO! I WISH EVERY CHURCH WAS FULLY COMMITTED TO BEING THE BEST CHURCH FOR THE UNCHURCHED IN OUR CITIES AND NATION- DON'T YOU?! Better yet - I think God would love it if we had a  friendly ,Germany-wide, contest for it! There's no telling what would happen if every church started doing what Jesus said he came for - For I have come to call sinners, not those who think they are already good enough." - Matthew 9,13 (NLT). IT WOULD BE EXPLOSIVE! AND I THINK IT'S GOING TO GET EXPLOSIVE IN STRALSUND THIS YEAR!

How we are going to be a great church for the un-churched?  1. Stay Relevant to People. 2. Be Wild about Serving People 3. Make Room for People - lots of people - all types of people! 4. Be a Partying church - LOUD, Partying church!!!

'The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with Loud Singing.' - Zeph 3:17 (ESV). That Scripture is loaded! I dare you to Meditate on that for the week . It will change your life!

Have you noticed any bricks in your heart and mind this week? I already had a couple pop-up and then I smashed them.

Kevin took out that wall like a wrecking ball didn't he? Way to go Kevin!

I'm dreaming of FHC as the kind of church, that if it stopped existing,
Stralsund would mourn because we were making such a positive, meaningful
difference in our City.

We're just getting warmed up - come to the Tuesday meetings or talk to me personally to see what we can do to reach out to our City.

I appreciate every one of you who is helping make FHC happen!

Thanks for sharing the Father's House Church dream of being a CHURCH
WITHOUT WALLS für Stralsund.
(Lots of exclamation marks in this WE Recap... can you tell I'm excited?)

I can't wait till Saturday - 'Nach Außen Leben oder innerlich verwüsten?'.
Bring somebody with you!

Have a great week!

Pastor Brandon

So Much Happening - We Just Have to Communicate It!

Next week we’ll be combining our communication venues; Blog, Facebook, Twitter, Esnips, & the BG website. We're going to connect them to each other so you don't have to search to find what you're looking for.And we are going to maximize the venues that work better for you. We are also going to  are going to ramp up our Blog, Facebook and Twitter sites to frequently communicate with you what we are doing, how and where. I’m excited about it. -Brandon

Weekend Recap

Thought I'd share on my blog with you what I shared on our church's community site.
Für die deutsche Version bitte hier klicken!

Weekend Recap - Samstag GoDi - Mark 10:46-52

One of my favorite things is hearing Germans sing out in worship. I don't know why but the sound is sweeter to my ears than anything else on the planet. I know you guys blessed God on Saturday – blessed me too!

I'm going to try to learn to play the guitar before Saturday's GoDi!

I love sharing the word of God, but I really love the storys you share with me afterward about what God is doing in your lives – That's a gift! It's awesome to hear how God is meeting you with every step of fatih you take!

I love how you show me so much grace through my language and cultural mistakes – keep praying for me! Thanks!

I love seeing people come forward for prayer at the end of service. You have great hearts!

I love hearing how you share, counsel and pray with others during the week – Awesome! Don't let the devil condemn you for your mistakes and stop you from doing what's in your heart – he's just terrified of you!

Depression is going down at FHC! Can you imagine our city depression-free?

I'm looking at my own life and listening to how I talk to identify excuses I'm making and things that are holding me back. I'm breaking through too! I don't want to hold you back – I want to turn you loose! -Wild!

My pastor and home church prayer group said that our church would be a fountain of healing in this City. I believe it – and it's already starting to happen! Come to the Healing GoDi Friday at 7 if you need healing or bring someone who does. It will also be a time to equip you to pray effectively for others.

After the service I discovered that Matthias G. can sing like Avril Lavigne and can dance, too! That Dude is full of surprises!

Hats off to Martin who sat up front the entire message wearing my bathrobe. He deserved the 5 Euro!

Love my church! - Pastor Brandon

Building Project Complete!

Big shout out to everyone who helped make it happen - whether you gave financially or slapped paint on the walls! The place looks great and everyone mentions how inviting and nice the meeting room is. It really throws people at first - it's so non-churchy - but it's hitting the mark with people. One more step in taking down the walls with people in our non-churched city so they can receive from God. Will post some more video soon! Blessings and thanks, Brandon

Building Project Update

  • Meditation: 1 John 3:1
You know you're at Father's House Church in Stralsund, when people from a neighboring business approach 2 of your church members in the parking lot and ask them if they are there to steal car stereos! Ha! Actually happened to 2 of our guys who showed up early for the work day. Love my church!

Building Project Report 2 of 2

  • Meditation: Philippians 4:13
An inside look at our new church rooms. We've already started renovating and are going to try to wrap it up in the next two weeks! We're planning a baptism service on Nov. 21 followed by a celebration service in our new building. Please be praying with us for wisdom with building decisions, strength for the work, that God will use this opportunity to strengthen our fellowship, and for the necessary finances for renovation and furnishings. If you can help us financially, let us know! It's going to be awesome!

  • Meditation: Luke 15
Here's the first video about our new building. I'm showing you the surrounding area, shopping center, school buildings and rows of apartment blocks. Take a look! We're going to be right in the middle of it!

Establishing God's Presence in the Neighborhood

We finally found a building for the church in Stralsund! It is just what we prayed for - a nice space with parking, great visibility, and in the middle of a neighborhood where we could serve people right outside our doors. Please be praying with us for the finances and help we need to move in and renovate over the next 3 weeks so we can establish God's presence in the neighborhood!

Prophecy Prepares Us & Inspires Hope!!!

I want to share with you a prophecy I recently received to encourage your heart and give you fuel in prayer and preaching. But before I do, allow me to share with you excerpts from a prophecy concerning America that I received and circulated in 2005 - it's amazing to see how God prepares His people.

Excerpts from Prophecies, Visions, Revelations received between July 1 & August 17, 2005

'In this hour, all that has been under the surface is now surfacing. Hidden things will be exposed get your house in order! - Government! Church! and Your House will all be tried with fire!

In 4 years (2009) a time of testing will come to the World to prove the hearts of men – both the just and unjust - what remains will determine the destinies of both the Church and the World.

He is working a work in the coming days that even if it were told to us we would not believe it! Grievous things are coming, some calamities, but do not be dismayed and get off course. Averted? Yes, some of My people will be 'averted'. And some actions may be averted if My people will pray. Pray! Pray! Pray!

The gloves are coming off!” The World's animosity against Christ and His Church will be revealed.

Everything that can be shaken will be shaken once more. What is not founded on the Rock will fall away - even some church people will drift away in a single wave.

Systems in America will soon be shaken - economic, and will not recover for a season. For a season we will know hardship - what it is. We will not recover from one crisis before another will strike.

I see great houses desolate! Fine mansions empty! A heap of seed yields a handful of crop! (Isaiah 5:8-10)

We (America) will soon lose face in the World - diplomatic failures. Our (American) envoys will return with heads shaking, not understanding. I have caused this.” Our (America's) enemies will laugh, but not for long. A restoration will come. We will not be restored to our former glory, but to His Glory.

Other nations will mock at the fall of this once great land. Then I will bring a restoration through a Remnant - kept, reserved in the cave, they will be the Restorers; speaking words of healing to the land. But it will not be as you have known it. I will rebuild what remains. And I will punish the nations that said, “Aha, ha, ha!”

(If you would like to receive the full text, pls send me an email).

Here is what I received on September 13:

There is a mighty change underway in America

A reversal!

Get Ready! Rejoice! I am turning your fortunes around. You have heard my voice and I am answering.

I am about to change everything: Where you thought it was going downhill, I am going to give it wings to fly. Where you thought morality was going into the gutter, I am moving people to their knees. Get ready!

The spiritual climate in America is changing right now. A spiritual wind is going to go from the west to the east coast. From New York it is going to go all over America.

What in the World is Happening?

  • Mood: Hopeful!
  • Meditation: Romans 12:12, 15:13
Financial Crises, out of control politics, wars, brutality, media manipulation, collapsing Dollar...etc.

Many Christians echo the reports of the news media these days- what they say and what the media says are the same. They only see what sin is doing to the world and the messes it is creating and the natural striving of people to survive it all. It's a bleak picture - a hope-killer. There seems to be a distinct lack of victory among many of us today. Even what many 'prophets' are saying could have been a 'repeat of a Foxnews report' as my brother, Blake says. But as Christians, our question in every circumstance is 'What is God doing?', because what God is doing is always redemptive and according to plan - His plan. We seek to recognize what he is doing and then pursue it with faith.

What is God doing? - the simple answer is that God is teaching His people to live by His Word. (...to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. - Deut. 8:3). When things get shaken up in our lives, it shows us where our confidence is and where we have gotten comfortable. We are to hold to the truth of God's Word, go through the test and experience God's favor.

The future we are building is not collapsing - your future is great! For those building their lives and churches according to Biblical patterns, the future is bright!

God is teaching us to build our lives, businesses, churches, ministries, etc. on His Word which can never be shaken.

I'll be writing more over the next few days. -Brandon

Latest News

  • Mood: God has a plan!
  • Meditation: Philippians 4:13
Our question at VTTN & ProJect 29 is always: "How can we get the Gospel out?". That means we constantly create new problems and challenges for ourselves! ha! The present challenge is meeting space. We are going to multiple services during the week and need a main hall with preferably 2 smaller rooms that we can rent on a monthly basis. (Till now we've been doing the weekend set-up and breakdown for each service). We desperately need an HQ for all our activities in the City - our apartment is becoming unlivable - our floor space keeps shrinking!

What's challenging is that a) Such rooms are in extremely short supply here. (Stralsund is a tourist town, not a business center). We have a couple of optioons on the table, but want our move to be a 'Step Up' rather than a makeshift solution. b) The dollar value keeps going down while our expenses keep going up and we are doing this in one of the poorest regions of Germany with virtually no budget. We've been here before and trust God's faithfulness - after all, the Gospel is His business.

Please be praying with us as we take this step of faith: 1. For God's favor - he has so many ways to provide for this need 2. The right location 3. The necessary finances.

Thanks for standing with us! - Brandon

Good Stuff on Change from Bobby Gruenewald, Lifechurch.tv

  • Mood: Excited about what God's doing with Project 29!
  • Meditation: Matthew 11:12
What is needed in the Church today is not change. The Church needs a culture of change. When you develop a culture of change, people lean into change—they anticipate it. They expect it. They know it’s coming and are looking forward to the results. The believe it makes a difference. They begin to guess at what it might be. They propose changes and are worried that things have gone flat when there is not change.

Creating this culture at your church will require a strong change work-ethic…it’s an organizational muscle you’ll need to build. But the reward? Being able to respond to God’s leading quickly and without hesitation.

Here is a fairly simple process that has helped me in trying to build a culture of change in teams I’ve led.

Make a series of small, incremental changes that are strategically planned and spaced.
Have a well-communicated vision that allows for transparency and flexibility as momentum shifts.
Continually evaluate what has momentum what doesn’t.
Do more of what’s working and less of what’s not.
Repeat

Now I know that can seem overly simplistic and it is. I’ve just found that in hindsight those are the common components in creating a positive change culture.
